Actually yes, you CAN give aspirin to dogs. Do NOT give aspirin to cats. However, aspirin can cause stomach problems (just like in humans--irritation, ulcers, even bleeding) so it is best to check with a vet first. Coated aspirin is better--it helps protect the stomach (such as brand name Ecotrin, I think it is). Do not give the aspirin for an extended period of time without a vet's supervision. PLEASE at least call a veterinarian and ask their recommendation first as to how much to give. (One baby aspirin won't hurt at all).
And as others have mentioned, do not give acetaminophen (Tylenol) or ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin etc) to dogs or cats. Acetaminophen is especially toxic to cats--it can be used in dogs but is risky, so don't attempt it on your own.
Good luck!

Depends on the size of the dog and why you want to give him the asprin. Asprin wont as a rule harm a dog but if hes in that much pain you might want to just take him to the vet.

Aspirin is perfectly ok for dogs, but not for cats. Any other OTC painkiller can be very dangerous to dogs. To reduce stomach irritation, use buffered aspirin or give aspirin at mealtime. For chronic arthritis pain, we now have much better drugs, but aspirin is perfectly ok for occasional aches and pains.
Use 5 grain (325 mg) aspirin tablets.
A 60 to 80 lb dog may be given one tablet twice a day (every 12 hours) or 1/2 tablet three times a day (every eight hours). A 30 to 40 lb dog gets half as much; a 15 to 20 lb dog a quarter as much.
Avoid giving it to a puppy, as young dogs sometimes do not tolerate it well. Aspirin also interacts with several other drugs, particularly cortisones, digoxin, some antibiotics, Phenobarbital, and Furosemide(Lasix®).

The only 'safe' aspirin on the human market for dogs is Ascriptin. I give my 12 y/old lab 1 tablet daily as needed for joint pain, you will need to adjust the dose depending on the size of your dog. Your vet will be able to tell you the correct dose. NEVER, NEVER use Tylenol/Bayer/ or any of the other OTC's; they can be fatal in most cases.. as always, consult your vet before giving home remedies... it'll be safer (and probably cheaper) inthe long run.

You can give dogs BUFFERED aspirin. Make sure it is buffered. Baby aspirin should be, but make sure or it will upset their tummy. Small dogs can have about a half of a regular aspirin and larger dogs a whole one a few times a day as needed, but only short term. Call your vet Monday to see what they recommend.

Yes, but if it's a tiny dog you might want to break it in half. If it's a larger dog you can actually use regular aspirin. We had a collie with arthritis that we gave aspririn to daily and she lived to be 16. But NEVER give your dog ibuprofin (advil, etc) because that can be toxic to them.

I wouldn't. Sometimes it is ok, sometimes it can be life threatining. If your dog is ill or doesn't look well, take him/her to the vet in the morning. He/she may need veterinary treatment. Better to be safe than sorry.

No! it's way to hard on their kidneys. If anything you can give them a benadryl but no more than a mg/per pound. if they are twenty five pounds-give them one. and make sure that it is just plain benadryl, not cold and alergy.
