i am 14 year old white girl and i want to get dreadlocks... my parents are cool and for it, but what about everyone else? and i would like to know how to deal with people who are against it. i am afraid i wont be able to have a good enough comeback. i DONT want to hear from people who think dreadlocks were made by black people and should only be worn by them, or think they are dirty, or whatever ... because they are not...

I think dreadlocks look great on both girls and guys.
Dont worry about what people say, you're doing it to make yourself happy, not them.

You don't have to have a comeback to people. My son had a Mohawk, spikes, dreads, shaved head. You just have to get used to being stared at without being paranoid. I mean people driving down the freeway would be turning around staring at us. It was funny. But people would come up to him and ask him how he would do his hair. That was mostly the mohawk cuz it was at least 9 inches high.

Don't worry about other people so much. If your parents are cool that's all that matters.

Screw what ever anyone else thinks. Are you changing your hair style to make other people feel good or for you. I If want them get them as long as you feel good about yourself.
