then what is it? It is not a mineral or a vegetable. It is not an animal such as a dog or a monkey. In fact, it is not an animal at all; it is a human being. Cows give birth to cows; horses give birth to horses. No medical person has any difficulty identifying an unborn dog as a dog, or an unborn pig as a pig. Why should there be any question about an unborn human?

Wrong board, but i agree with you.

What irritates me is a recent news story refered to a 7 month baby as a fetus.... my brother was born at 7months

Humans are animals. We are mammals.

"Baby" is a very general term which is usually applied up until the child turns 2. "Fetus" is a very specific part of the pregnancy, and most people don't know when the baby is a zygote and when it is a fetus. So why use a scientific term if you aren't sure you'll use it right?

You should do a bit more research. The fetus of a human (which certainly does fall under the animal kingdom in scientific classification) looks much the same as any other animal fetus.
Growth and development produce a very different offspring. Referring to the stage of development of a human as a fetus is not a slight. It is just a developmental term.

Doug,

After answering several of your questions I noticed something. You have only been a member since 9-7. You are level 0 with -88 points. You have asked 29 questions, and all were about abortion and you put them under immigration. ( every one of them filed incorrectly under immigration).

So although you get the same answers over and over again yet you continue to post the same questions just phrased differently each time, I have a question for you...... Just which Republican are you working for? Go tell your boss you have been caught and you have to come up with a new name now. That should keep you busy for a while.

Fetus is a scientific term that Pro- Choicers have adopted to dehumanize the baby and to more easily promote their political agendas. It's a human baby. Why do they say fetus instead of zygote if they think it is just a clump of cells.

once conception happens, there is a BABY. the baby grows inside the womb, just as it continues once it is born for many years into adulthood. human beings, not "it" or "membrane" or "fetus" or any other nonhuman term.. living human beings.

I don't know, but I agree with you, my little sister's pregnant and still calls her daughter an it. It pisses me off so bad.

Another disguised abortion question.

For you it's a baby from conception.....for another woman it's a choice.
