No, reading and knowing the Bible isn't enough.
We must put into practice the things we are taught.
You can know Jesus existed. You can read God's plan.
However, if you don't apply it to your life, what good will it be?
You must accept Jesus into your heart and repent of your sins for salvation to be effective. Not just reading the words but making an action out of it.
Don't get me wrong, know the Bible and applying it our lives today (it applies just as much today as it did when it was written and first taught) is very important. Besides, if you don't know the truth (God's Word) how will you be able to rebuke the lies?

NO. in fact, i've never read the bible and am VERY spiritual still, more than most people I know. the bible is more like the oracle on the matrix. it says what needs to be heard, some may not be the truth, but all should be believed as the truth. the most important part of the bible is to teach life lessons, and that's what spirituality is. I know there is a God and I know there is an afterlife, but the details change hideously between religions, so I sort of combine nearly every religion and plug science into that and that's where I get my religion.

No, knowledge is not enough. You must accept the gift of salvation and enter into a personal, thriving relationship with Jesus.
In this, the law is awakened in your soul. Instead of just behaving a certain way--i.e., in alignment with God's law--you come to love God's law, and you are given living assistance to transform your life via the Paraclete.

Reading the Bible and understanding the doctrine of God are the first step in becoming a righteous person. You must do those things that you know are good and of God to be good. Satan is well versed in the Bible, yet he certainly does not do the work of God.

God's Gospel:
"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;" Romans 3:23
"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 6:23
"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16
"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." Romans 10:9-10

We all fall short from the glory of God. We get saved only by the grace and mercy of God.
Jesus is enough, and when you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you want to do good.

Bible knowledge is a key to salvation in that it reveals Jesus. But unless you take that knowledge and apply it towards your faith and serve God like we are expected to, then we will never see Gods rewards.
