If you don’t think our Congress is taking Americans for a ride, think again. According to Dr. Madeleine Cosman, "At least 300,000 to 350,000 anchor babies annually become citizens in California." In 1994, 74,987 anchor babies in maternity units cost taxpayers $215 million in Stockton, California. In 2003, 70 percent of the 2,300 babies born in San Joaquin General maternity ward were from illegal aliens. That number has exploded today with over three million illegal aliens residing in California.

The French economist Frederic Bastiat said, "The unseen is more expensive than the seen." In Stockton, California, the Silverio Family was featured in the Wall Street Journal in 2003. They were fruit pickers who arrived illegally from Oxtotilan, Mexico in 1997. The wife, Felipa had three kids, but popped an anchor baby named Flor. The child was premature and spent three months in a neonatal incubator at a cost to the San Joaquin Hospital of over $300,000.00. They conceived another, Christian. The second baby made them eligible for $1,000 per month welfare. Because Flor is disabled, she receives $600.00 monthly for asthma. Although the illegal aliens made $18,000.00 annually picking fruit, they collected $12,000.00 of your tax dollars for their anchor babies. One night the father, Cristobal crashed his van. He had no license or insurance. Taxpayers paid for all hospital bills. That’s why 77 hospitals in border states were going bankrupt in 2003, but Senator John McCain wrote a rider into the Medicaid Bill for $1.4 billion of your tax dollars. It passed. Not to finish the spending spree on these anchor babies, the children attend California schools at a cost of $7,000.00 per year over and above what their parents pay in taxes. The cost for all five of their children for one school year exceeds $35,000.00 times 18 years for a grand taxpayer total of $630,000.00. This is only one family. No wonder California is $38 billion in debt.

Not to mention all the emergency rooms that have closed here in California from treating illegals who never pay a dime for free care. Not to mention crime, gang involvement which ties up Peace officers and the mounting traffic on the freeways and dozens of other ways that this cost the state. Estimates in the state are currently at 185 million a year in costs due to illegals! Recently here during one of their lovely demonstrations they burned the American flag, carried the Mexican flag, tied up dozens and dozens of city streets and law enforcement members too. Not to mention how nasty it is to go to any Home Depot here to shop. They practically jump in your car, block your vehicle, throw trash every where and urinate in the parking lots. Real nice! Plus all the accidents they cause and driving with no insurance or a license! You do you think pays for that? WE do!

Good post! Course the father probubly allowed the employer he worked for to make a few thousand dollars more profit each year in wages he didn't have to pay to an American, who couldn't buy anything or maybe had to go on unemployement or welfare.
Ultimately, all us middle classers, got to have a bunch of illegals and their spawn living in and around us, had to tolerate a down and out citizen who may have other society threatening behviiors as a result of no work oportunities and then there are the cost s for the Senora's babies and so on that you mention.
Yeah, the real winner here is the Boss the Senore works for. The employer. He probubly wites off the gain as he expands to hire more illegals or if he does pay taxes on the ill gotten gain, the Feds and State use it to provide more help programs for folks like the Familia who can't keep their pants on, drive safely or teach or encourage their kids or themselves to speak English.
Things are going to get worse and then fail completely soon. It will be a miracle if the Feds or State can pull a turn around on this issue ...assuming they even care to try to fix this problem.

That's why California bonds are junk bond status. All the middle and upper middle class are moving out of state at a rate of 100K a year (ie: net tax payers) and all the Hispanics are moving in (ie: net tax burden) causing undue stress on the govt. They're f-ed is all I can see. It's ONLY going to get worse, not better.

the only way to get rid of illegals is to fine the employers who rake in huge profit breaking the law pay no work comp no employment taxes offer no health insurance fro long hours and sometimes dangerous work. many injuries .often these employers advertise or pay off the coyotes who bring them workers ..
then there are landlords who profit from slum unsafe unmaintained charge per person fro unsafe unsanitary housing.
those that profit from this. your neighbors.. maybe you ..creating the illegal opportunities getting fat on slave labor...that draw them here

how much taxes did those employers cheat us all out of?why didn't hey pay health insurance for their employees who work usually 2-3x more hour's than you do?

I live in Arizona and I am so sick of seeing waiting rooms in the ER packed full of illegals getting a free ride. They are in the waiting rooms cause their little kids are all coughing, and sneezing and most of the time the kids are running around like they are not even sick. I took my son in to the ER once here in Phoenix, he hit is head, and was bleeding. We had a 4 hour wait to get stitches. I'm sick of this crap with the illegals!

What about the economic contribution undocumented workers make to this country. Don't bite the hand that feeds you. Why do you think produce is so cheap?

What gives YOU the right to demean a group of people based on ethnicity? They come to this country to work. They have families like anyone else. Because their children are citizens of this country they are ENTITLED to receive government benefits regardless of their parents' citizenship status.

Do you want undocumented workers to pay their way? Give them their citizenship papers. I know they'd be willing to pay taxes once they receive the rights they are entitled to.
