i play football myself so i know women can play, ive seen them with my own eyes. i know im a women myself but thats not the point! women can play, who agrees??

men try and supress women playing because in the old days womans football was more popular and most where better than men so they banned women playing it proffesianaly and interest dropped and not may woman played so on
December 1921: The Football Association banned women from playing on Football League grounds. Although there were discrepancies to be found in the accounts, the main reason was that: "Complaints have been made as to football being played by women, the council feel impelled to express their strong opinion that the game of football is quite unsuitable for females and ought not to be encouraged." Though the game continued there was a great decrease in interest.

I must admit that I wondered why women played football until I saw my first Ladies University match. There was a lot of skill, passion and grace about it. Ever since I have realised that women should get into football, but due to family and time commitments most dont.
People who think women shouldn't play football are either chauvinistic, want to provoke a reaction or have never seen a women's match. Whatever the reason, they should all just be ignored!

I agree I was brought up in Australia where girls played contact sports.Also I know a lady who is 19 and just received a scholarship to play in America..I also went to watch England ladies thrash the dutch at Charlton the other week.
Women can play football and some of them are better than men.

It is against the social norm that has been instilled in society for hundreds of years. Women were viewed as a prized possession to remain on the arm of the man, keep the house clean and keep the kids in check. Since then these "norms" have been passed down the generations hence the problem with inequality in sport regarding gender.
Furthermore, women in professional sport are still only just being allowed to play, so football which is one of the oldest sports still well played is very precious to poncy men.

Because they are rubbish at it, or at least most are. I seen the FA Womens Cup Final this year and I was surprised at how bad it was, this is not sexist but I honestly think that no woman could get into a Premiership club or maybe even Championship club even though there are a lot of bums out there, there are a few good players I'll say that but just not enough to make it a spectacle. Sorry, my opinion.

I played boys little league as a girl. I was always at the top of the batting order but mostly played in the outfield "because I had the strongest arm on the team" so they said, the jerks. Lesson learned: girls can be much better than men at many sport-related things, but the combination of men and sports creates a strange brew that's theirs and theirs only--women are better not drinking from that cup.
But really, what we're talking about is how athletic lesbians are freaking gnarly when it comes to contact sports...in my lesbo-centric town we have a big roller derby following. Oh yeah...those girls tackle each other ON WHEELS--and they do it in fishnets and miniskirts!

men are threatened that women will show them up, and not just with football, but in all sports.
personally i would like to see mixed teams at the top level. sure there may be some problems, but players already get physical and aggressive with each other.
if the tryouts are equal and game play is what holds a player accountable for their position on the field, then who cares what gender players are. if they are capable and willing then i say put everyone in together.
isn't there some old saying about going beyond your best to improve. so come on world, get the BEST players together in all sports and not separate the sexes.

because they feel threatened that we are taking over the sport that's why. I play football too and its like ha ha women's team Right whatever do you even know the offside rule to which i reply i do and that i can rally off the recent changes and when they came into force and that shuts them up ha ha.
By the way to the guy saying about shopping and eastenders eastie isn't even on on a Wednesday twit.
In other words men are just malchauvinist pigs.

I think women should play football. I think it's very hot. :-D
Sadly enough, I know of some people here in the US that think of soccer as a good sport for kids and women only. They, of course, are morons and don't actually know anything about the Beautiful Game.
