Don't ever ever ever use Sun In. It's like poison for your hair. I don't even know what else to say, just don't use it. Trust me, your stylist will thank you.
See a stylist to get some highlights to lighten up the brown. It will look pretty and natural that way.

I agree. Definitely do NOT use Sun-In. It damages your hair. I used to use it when I was younger, but now just use regular hair dye. I dye my own hair and never really have any problems... One thing you need to determine if you're going to do it yourself, is if you have a reddish undertone to your hair. My hair used to be blonde, now is brown (natural color), but I dye it blonde. I have reddish undertones to my hair, and whenever I dye it myself, it will turn VERY golden, almost strawberry, blonde for the first week or two... No matter what shade of blonde I use. If you go get it done, this doesn't happen because they can put toner on your hair to take the reddness out. Anyhow, good luck to you!!

In my opinion Sun In, is crap in a bottle. I have only seen bad results, especially on brown hair, it turns brassy orange color and it interferes with other chemicals you put on your hair at a later time, like perms solution, relaxers and other haircolor. I would not recommend it for anyones hair. I cannot tell you how many teenagers have come into the salon to have their hair fixed after using Sun In.

What they said is probably true.
The only other thing I'd say is that, on medium brown hair, Sun In will turn your hair orange. Not a very pretty color.
