Do you think they have any right to even suggest stopping this? I don't, it makes me really angry!

No they definately shouldnt. I got annoyed when England couldnt display its own countries flag for the world cup in certain pubs because it was seen as racism. I have absolutely nothing again different races and cultures, I was raised around a large multicultural neighbourhood. But I do get annoyed when our own culture is put on the back burner for others. They have after all come to the country and shuld live as the rest of the country lives.
Its like everymorning at my school growing up we had asembley where we would sing and have a morning prayer, nothing more nothing less, it was a time of the day we all got together and let everone one know we were one, teachers would let us all into the days happenings. We had every race and religion at the school join in, nothing melicious but now there are more children out of the school halls than in it and in alot of schools morning assembly doesnt even take place. I doubt any other country would change its way of life for migrants. Im sorry if migrants offend people who are going to say we were raised and born there but at some point your family came into the country and accepted the way it was...why has everyone changed now. They have to change their own ways or accept our the way they are but dont have the right to complain.
I now no longer live in UK I moved to live in USA and I dont change the way of life over here, I adjust to it and accept the way they do things. There are some of my traditions I likee to keep but I no way enforce it on natives of this land.

No it is not right and if the Muslims don't like it , then thats too bad. The UK would not tolerate Americans coming into their beautiful country telling them to take down Christmas lights, and neither should you listen and do for the Muslims. You need to make sure this does not happen. You need to take this subject to parliment and stand firm. Just like in the state of Iowa, a Muslim group wants to start a Muslim Camp. Until the fighting is over, this group can not suggest or do anything in America. Why would any other culture even have the oddasity to suggest it ? Good grief, isn't there any common sense left? Why do we have to struggle with these uncalled for predicaments ? How would they like it if we went to the Muslim world and ask for Christmas lights to be put up. It would cause an instant be-heading. What is new under the sun ??

Astagfar-Allah. I, as a muslim, thoroughly disagree. i believe freedom of religion is the amazing thank you to flow. Even in the Quran, it is mentioned that tolerance is significant. additionally many faiths have vacations that stem from pagan vacations. did you recognize that Eid became right into a trip that actual became into created through fact the early Muslims who have been converts from paganism used to have 2 vacations in the course of the three hundred and sixty 5 days on which that they had feasts and celebrated. After changing to Islam, even however they did not have those 2 vacations, they nonetheless had the two celebrations of Eid.

How the hell are Christmas lights offensive? I am atheist and I love Christmas lights! They are beautiful and somewhat peaceful. Seriously though, if the Muslims do not like it, they need to go back to a Muslim country... somewhere where the government supports their views instead of trying to reform a culture.

Multiculturalism run amok.We have the same problem in the U.S.
The A.C.L.U and their cronies even try to go after the Easter bunny here. These people need to be in an insane asylum.I wouldn't care if my neighbor put up some Muslim "thingamabob"I mean who cares? Leave peoples traditions, like Christmas lights, alone.

Makes me angry too. They need to get over it. I say that everything they do is offensive but does that mean they have to stop?

Does that mean you can ask them to practice their cultural practices differently when it offends some of you?

Or not?

I think it is ridiculous, but I'm from the US, and our Muslims don't seem to mind the lights, as far as I know.

No but they do have the right to suck my nuts. Who cares what they think? I sure as hell don't. They need to get lives and stop trying to kill everyones spirit. Christmas isn't even seen as a holiday for Jesus by most people anymore. Cry babies.

Last I checked people in the UK had religious freedom, same as the U.S. Tell em to shove it or you'll complain Ramadan is offensive.

We have the same thing in America. We cannot have Xmas trees because they have to be 'holiday' trees. I suggest you put up neon crosses on your private property. Make your house look like the Vatican.
