Now there's a sweeping generalization if ever I heard one! I bet you never even look at the folks in the right-hand lane, only the slow ones in the left that are pissing you off!

Not all old people lose their driving abilities at the same rate. I've seen some pretty decent seniors driving, a lot better than some of the newer drivers out there. If old people can keep up with everyone else driving in the left lane, I have no problem with that. And please, know that everyone shares the road, though there are some general courtesy rules, don't think that you own the road and everyone else should obey what you want them to do.

I have seen people of all ages driving in the left lane and it irritates me as well. I think so many of them are not paying attention to what they are doing. They get on the road with many things on their mind and drive as though they are the only people on the road. It's like getting behind someone who has their turn signal on for miles. They don't have a clue of what is going on. It's too bad they can't be ticketed for being morons.

In my state, the left lane isn't just a problem with old people - it's every native citizen. So much so, I set the cruise in the right lane and pass everybody. They even pull directly into the left lane off the on ramp. What state? Why, NC of course!

It's not just old people who ride the fast lane doing half the speed. My ex husband would do it because he was a control freak who didn't like being controlled. He figured the left lane was for his use exclusively. What an a--hole he was and guess what? He ended up with colon cancer!

Old people are cranky. They drive in the fast lane - slowly - just to piss off the younger folks. It's the only fun you can have driving at that age.

They probably don't know any better. Perhaps they "AIM" the car by watching the left side of the road. :-) It isn't just old folks, I have to pass MANY young ones, on the right side, of every make and model of human. They just don't know any better. Mark it up to ignorance. Pops

Just a guess; The curb scares them because they probably jump it all the time. Maybe the world is safer with them on the left side. You can always get around them. But I feel bad for pedestrians walking the sidewalk, know what I mean?

When you get to be an elderly person, you'll see why you''ll drive on the left side!! You'r memory is not as young as it used to be. And Please don't say: well, take their Driver License away!
