I like both, but since I've never owned a dog, and I have a cat and stuff, I guess I like cats a little better.

I like dogs more than cats....because the last time I saw a cat, it scratched me!! But dogs are sweet and kindful.

Cats. Cats aren't slobbery, don't need to be walked, can stay indoors 24/7, are cheaper to take care of, don't get large like dogs (i.e. great dane, etc.), they can sleep on your bed (even if there are already two people in the bed), are easier to cuddle, loves to be treated like your child, and doesn't mind running around under the covers or meowing at you in the mornings to wake you up (more gentle when waking you up).

IMO, dogs are the worst...they mess the house and bark too much
My sister got a cat and then a dog 2 years later.
the cat behaves and stays quiet but tries to go on the kitchen counter every now and then.
The dog barks all the time, messes the house, and tries to run to any open door.
some days i wish he would just get lost.........
you have no idea how annoying barking is to me....and having it happen at 5am each morning just sux

I like both of them, but if I have to choose one, I would choose dogs because they are more active than cats and you can teach them tricks.
