If you were my boyfriend and offering it to me, I'd say yes - that's about the size stone I would like. (and yes, that was a jab at people who are far too superficial when it comes to crap like this.)
I'm sorry you have to go through this. I would get the ring appraised and then decide what you are willing to accept for it. Ebay or craigslist come to mind.

Just ignore the rude & classless idiots on here. You haven't said the reason/s why she said no (obviously the shallow ppl on here can't see past stone size) but if it's because she isn't ready yet and hasn't cut the relationship, perhaps you can hold on to it, until you have spoken to her and asked her if it's something she will consider with you in the near future and ask the time frame.
If there is no longer a relationship between you both. I think you should as someone already suggested return the ring and get store credit and by yourself a nice watch or buy something nice for your mother and put it away for a xmas present. You won't get the value of it if you resale it.
BTW for the ignorant, a woman that truly loves a guy wouldn't turn down marriage because of the size of the diamond. The man bought her what he could afford to give and gave it from his heart, so give the guy a break!

Can you return it to the store where you bought it? They might not give you your money back, but they'll give you store credit, and you can buy yourself something nice, like a new watch or something. Some jewelers will also buy jewelry, so look into that option as well. I'm so sorry, I know you must be hurting right now. The right person will come along for you, probably when you're least expecting it.

If she said she can't marry you cause of the size of the ring, she was sooo wrong. I told my ex that I would take a cubic zicornia from him, as long as it came from him with love. I think big rocks are so gaudy and ugly.
I would not give it to another girl, I won't even give my set from my ex to my daughter, why give her a wedding set from a failed marraige, it is like jinxing her. Try to take it back to the store, or sell it to another store that buys old jewelry. Maybe you can take it to the store you bought it and trade it in for another ring when you meet the right girl.

I already have my ring, thanks (and it's smaller than that). I just wanted to send my sympathies..... maybe it will work out eventually, or maybe it's not meant to be.
Will the store take the ring back? You could try a pawn shop. You could see if you can find a buyer on craigslist.
Good luck!!
