Im planning to buy a new Camcorder, but im really confused which one to go for? The Panasonic PV-GS500, Sony HDR-HC3 or any toher Jvc 3ccd camera? which one do you ppl think has a good quality?

Panasonic, in my humble opinion is a better brand. You should check out the websites though.

They all have their own distinct features and you have to decide which one to go for depending on what is important to you. Panasonic has a reputation for the best quality because of the three ccd recorders. But they are not good in low light conditions. JVC seems to have the best options for the price. I chose Sony because they have the best low light recording, plus I like their touch screen controls. I use things like their touch screen spot meter and focus all the time I am recording. It works great. The draw back with sony is their LCD screen is not covered by waranty and if it breaks down, you do not have adequate controls except on the screen. If you want to download into your computer and edit yourvideos stay away from the mini DV because the compression is different than the editing programs require and you can run into trouble there. Stick witht he tapes which give the best quality or spend the money and get the hard drive.
