Since July, I've been working out every other day, but when I ate a lot during the day, I would gain weight. Now, after losing 7 pounds, I eat so much, but I don't gain any weight.

Does exercising every other day build up your metabolism?

Come on, this is a no-brainer. What have you been doing lately? Exercising will keep the extra pounds off of you.It doesnt speed up your metabolism, but it will do you good in health

Metabolism is the rate at which your body burns calories. Muscles burns more calories than fat (I think it's about 50 calories per one pound of muscle). Have you been building muscle ?? Aerobic exercise and eating at regular intervals will increase metabolism because the body is working more efficiently. It doesn't matter if you're exercising every other day or everyday, so long as you do it consistantly and at a consistant amount of time, such as 30-90 minutes. Being active raises your metabolism.
