I have a 30 unit insilin syringe and need to administer 272 mcg

1 unit of insulin is = about 45.5 μg (mcg) ;
Let us make it simple to avoid confusion.
(Use the formula Stock Desired /Stock on hand X Quantity);
Where: SD =272 mcg; SH= 45.5 ; Q= 1 unit

So: 272 mcg / 45.5 mcg X 1unit
: 5.978 unit
: rounding it off you will give 6 units of insulin.

Anyway, I think insulin are usually ordered to be given in units but anyhow I hope this helps a bit. Thanks.
