i am going out this weekend and for the first time i get to choose what to do. we are in the chicago area so i need suggestions for a fun saturday night.

I don't live in the Chicago area but I will advise you to pick something awesome, really fun or really unusual to do. Set a precedence that you aren't a push over who will be okay with dinner and a movie, even if most of the time you are. It makes a good statement that you don't settle for the easy road.

Take something he'd like to do. Paintball wars perhaps.
Hey, you've gotta get down and dirty for guys sometimes.
He'd really appreciate something that's more fun, and un-romantic.
