When I turn on the tv it has great picture! It works fine, except that the tv picture goes in from the middle! There are like two black cresent moons on each side of the tv, it is very hard to explain! It is a GE stereo monitor! Please help if you know what is wrong! I really can't afford a new tv!

thats sounds like the pincushion circuit has failed. This circuit is also known as the East-west Correction circuit. It adjusts the shape of the Horizontal wave form so that you can adjust the sweep to the correct proportions giving you a correct, straight picture. This is not something you can fix yourself. depending on how large the set is and how much it will cost to replace will determines if its worth repairing

Make sure nothing like an appliance is on near it (even telephones, cell phones, routers....etc) Make sure there are no decorations near it (they might be magnetic)

Make sure speakers are far enough away!!

If it's an older TV the tube might be on it's way out, but usually you'll see signs slowly, not all of a sudden!

Make sure you don't have anything with magnets (ie Speakers) that are close to your screen. A magnet will make a rainbow shape on your screen near wherever the magnet is.
