Well it depends on what type of guests you are talking about. If they are friends of the same sex then I don't see a problem with this, but if your talking about your son wanting a girl to stay overnight or your daughter wanting a boy to stay the night as well, then I would say this is a bad idea. I don't think a teenager should be allowed to have guys and girls of the opposite sex staying at the house overnight. That is very disrespectful to you and your house. If they want this type of thing then they need to wait until their 18 and then they can move out and have whoever they want to spend the night with them. Their should be boundaries where this is concerned. Thier teenagers, their not adults yet. They don't pay any bills and they don't support themselves. You do all of that. They should only be allowed to have friends of the same sex over to spend the night. Having both sexes over at the same time is absolutely not a good idea and I wouldn't allow it all. You would be asking for trouble with this. Teenagers are very, very sneaky. We were all teenagers once too, so we know how this game is played. Sex is the main thing on all of their minds at this time. Take care!!!

No, no and no. Let me tell you a horror story:
My friend who has two teens, as you do, did just that. While mom, dad and brother were asleep... sis and brother's best friend had sex. The girl is 13 and the boy 17. This matter has gone into a legal dispute, although the girl did not get pregnant.
It has ruined the girls reputation and the boy was in juvenile detention! He changed schools, since then.
The 13 year old girl is in therapy and has become withdrawn.
The kids at school hate the girl, because of her accusation and the boy is so popular. She turned the story into RAPE, after the fact.
The incident totally upset the marriage of my friend. Her husband blamed her, because she ok'd the sleep-over!! It caused the him to nearly hunt down the boy to kill him!
This can happen when you set the stage, so I say don't have over-night guests!

What you can do is let kids come over and have a good time until bedtime and then it's time for parents to pick up their kids or for you to drive them home.

Since this question is a follow-on to your first question, I would like to answer the two questions together. If your son 16 and your daughter 15 are gay, then it's perfectly fine for them to run around naked together. And it's fine for your son to have gay overnight guests and your daughter to have Lesbian guests - it doesn't matter if it's the same night or different nights. You parents should just stay out of the way - go out and sleep in a motel - and let the kids entertain each other as kids will. With a crowd of gay kids around, your house will be in better shape tomorrow than it is today - they like things to be tidy and pretty.

You sound like a very cool 'rent. Congratulations.

Not to make you angry or anything, but is either one gay? Cuz then I'd be a little reluctant to allow sleep-overs.
But if not, and as you didnt specify I'm assuming not, it shouldnt be a problem. Just dont allow your son in your daughters room when she has a guest and dont let her in his room when he has a guest. Make them hang out in the living room or den or wherever. And if you're really iffy on it, make them sleep out there as well. Easier to check up on them and stuff.

I would say yes....as long as the guests are of the same-sex variety. When your son has his 16 year old buddy over...make sure your 15 year old daughter is under wraps. Same goes in reverse.

I wouldn't mind if my kids had overnight guests but why does everyone say " Same Sex" only??? do you parents not realize that more and more teens between the ages of 13 and 17 are not just experamenting with the opposit sex but with the same sex as well....I was never allowed to have any frieds over growing up after my parents realized i was a bi-sexual at age 14. I say the decision is up to you and your partner.....I would also say surpervised in the living room only no bedroom sleeping at all regaurdless if it is same sex or not!!!

I have a friend with teenagers (boy, girl-- close in age) and she times it so the girl can have a sleepover when the boy is gone and visa versa, boy has buddies over when the girl is away.
Better safe than sorry....
and ABSOLUTLY not on the "co-ed" sleepover. Please--do they think we are stupid?

i had sleepovers with the opposite sex when i was that age, and nothing happenned. not saying that is always the case but it depends on the friendship they have. if your son has a girl that is like his sister or vice versa than i think it would be okay. just have them sleep in the front room or someplace that you could easily sneak up on them if need be. try it once and see how things go.
