can you use prepared dream whip instead of cool whip in recipes?

I want to make taffy apple salad and it calls for coolwhip...can i use dream whip instead?

look you can but it is just not the same cool whip to dream whip is like Miracle whip to mayonnaise see for the record i like maricle whip better
