I feel there were people evolving here on earth when God created Adam and Eve and that's who he was worried about.
That also explains the skeletal remains that predate Adam and Eve, most evidence shows Adam and Eve were here around 5000 - 4000BC.
Also science shows that the world did actually flood around 2500 - 3000BC, they determined this from salt deposits found within the Great Pyramid which was built by Seth the son of Adam and duplicated by the Egyptians. The Great Pyramid was suppose to carry the knowledge that was learned in the beginning but science hasn't determined how, but they do know it had to be built by someone that knew more about the earth than normal man at the time could have. Some how Seth knew the world was round 3 - 4 thousand years before science did.

Apparently God was just kidding about that. Later in the Bible it says he settled down in a nice town, was fairly successful and had a wife.
