Well, actually we don't call it festival but the holy month, or may be you mean what we call "Eid".
Mentally this month teaches fast people alot of great values and manners. And physically, scientists have found that the month of Ramadan is the most benefit time of the year for physical body to fast. Human bodies need to fast real fast once a year, month every year. With fasting, bodies balance all their chemicals. It is very good to read with more details and awareness about its benefits to our bodies.
Actually, in this month especially, families gather to spend more times than any other period of the year, and this is the main idea of why in Ramadan they enjoy tremendous variety of delicious dishes and juices. Besides, worshipping Allah has its deeper meaning than the rest of the year, but not less! Though, in Ramadan, Allah gives more mercy and peace feelings and offers his worshippers extra graces "Hasanat" for each fasting and praying.
I love in Ramadan the wonderful feeling of being closer to Allah, and all muslims know this, being closer to Allah means that Allah will be closer to you, which means peace inside gets higher grades within ourselves.
Same happy Ramadan to you all fasting guys.

I am a Muslim and what I love about Ramadan is fasting so that my sins are forgiven. That is the importance of Ramadan and praying and then breaking the fast with friends and family. Ramadan is a month of peace not festivity. By the way I do love the delicious food at the end of the fasting day.

Ramadan is not a festival. It is a special period when you keep yourself out of any kind of entertaiment and social life.
Muslims spend time in praying, avoiding bad deeds and thinking about God and the meaning of life. This is time of getting closer to God and having a chance to be forgiven for the previous sins.
After Ramadan will be Eid- big Holiday. But not now

Its much the same as its all about love, sharing and most importantly family. However what makes it more special (my opinion) is for those who actually follow it properly as in abstaining from all pleasures, (no partying, no drinking, no gossiping, and praying a lot) is that at the End when you celbrate Eid (muslims new year) you feel that you have deserved it. you have worked hard for a whole month and now its time to celebrate.
Happy Ramdan

Oh, I additionally want to have sugars and fat in the process the Discordian "daily" ritual and consequently have it daily and throughly relish it :D

Ramadan is the month of blessings and returning to Allah in repentance.
Ramadan is the farm where soul-purifying seeds are sown. So water such seeds by good deeds. Bad deeds will cause you loss.
Ramadan is month of fasting not feasting
