friends...because...what if you guys get into it and someone will want to move???? what is your take on it...acquaintenances or friends on your street????From experience or my friends experience.....they have wanted to move...and felt they made a BIG mistake by getting involved with someone....This is woman to woman...

That is a hard call. I have had neighbors marry and be happy. And I have had neighbors that just won't quit fighting and the whole neighborhood suffers for it.
I say it depends on the circumstances.

Acquaintances, definitely. We've lived on our block for 30 years and have found that when close friendships developed, either by just the women or the couples they eventually fell apart and there was nothing but fighting and back stabbing after that. The whole block would avoid these people so they wouldn't be forced to become involved and take sides. Everyone else on the block keeps it as acquaintances, sometimes closer than others, and everyone is VERY happy. There is some socializing but never hanging out in other homes.

I think its nice to be friends with people on your street. You dont have to be friends with EVERYBODY, but why snub someone if they are being friendly just in case you move?? You could live there for years and years and just say a simple HI all those years?
Do you mean involved as in relationship??
