BC headache powder (it contains aspirin) and an ice cold Yoo-Hoo to wash it down with. Does the trick everytime! Also eat some greasy food, like McDonalds, that helps to soak some of it up.

Better yet, try to avoid a hangover. Don't drink on an empty stomach. Potatoes ( french fries) are good because they absorb some of the alcohol. Also drink plenty of water before, during, and after drinking. Most of the hangover symtems you get are from dehydration. Alcohol is a diuretic, which is why you pee so much.

My trick to avoid a hangover is to drink Gatorade and take Aleve before I go to bed. The Gatorade helps with the dehydration and the Aleve helps me avoid headaches! Then eat a good meal, like a nice Denny's Grand Slam! LOL It sounds gross after drinking, but all that grease and food soaks it up. Or get some pasta, my boyfriend swears its the only food that makes him feel better after a long nigh of drinking.

I think the issue is that if you still have alchohol in your bloodstream, you might incur liver damage from painkillers. Its just not a good combination. The best thing for a hangover headache is rest, complex carbs, and LOTS of water since your headache is actually caused by dehydration due to the alchohol.

Disclaimer: I am not a doctor and any questions regarding drugs should be asked of a lecensed medical doctor.
That being said you technically shouldn't take any pills with alcohol. If it is the next morning and you are no longer drunk, any pain releivers should be fine. If you want to stay away from pills, try drinking lots of water, and eat something small that is not greasy with some complex carbs and a bit of protein. Pasta with meat sauce works well.

Aspirin Is As Strong As Coumadin
by Bill Sardi
Aspirin is as strong as coumadin, but we pop these pills with little regard they can cause hemorrhages (strokes, eye bleeding, gastric bleeding). Daily aspirin use can be mortal. See my upcoming report on pain relievers. What are doctors doing prescribing overly expensive medications? See news report below:
Aspirin May Prevent Some Strokes
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
03/31/05
Aspirin is cheaper than warfarin and does not require regular blood tests to assess whether a patient's blood is getting too thin, as does warfarin. Researchers estimate that treating with aspirin rather than warfarin could result in a $20 million in health care savings.
The old medical standby aspirin, whose usage has been re-evaluated in recent months because of studies linking newer anti-inflammatory drugs to heart disease, also may get a second look for its role in the prevention of strokes in some patients.
An article published in today's New England Journal of Medicine reports that patients at risk of developing a stroke caused by narrowed brain arteries should take aspirin rather than an anti-clotting drug known as warfarin.
The article is based on a five-year, $15 million study led by an Emory University Medical School researcher, Dr. Marc Chimowitz.
The study ended early because warfarin, marketed as Coumadin, was associated with more complications while showing no advantages over a high dose, or 1,300 milligrams, of aspirin.
Specific Risks
The findings do not apply to all patients at risk of stroke but only those who are at risk because of narrowed brain arteries, Chimowitz said.
That is about 8 percent to 10 percent of patients at risk for stroke, or about 90,000 patients, Chimowitz said.
The findings also do not apply to patients who take warfarin for other reasons, such as atrial fibrillation, Chimowitz said.
Still, the findings hold great promise for those patients at risk of stroke from narrowed brain arteries, Chimowitz said.
Aspirin Advantages
Aspirin is cheaper than warfarin, and it also does not require regular blood tests to assess whether a patient's blood is getting too thin, as does warfarin.
The researchers estimate that treating with aspirin rather than warfarin could result in a $20 million in health care savings.

Ibuprofen is better than acetaminophen when there might still be alcohol in your bloodstream! Try Gravol for nausea and lots of H2O to re-hydrate and it will also help with the headache :)

just drink water.
the problem with hangovers is that your body is dehydrated. Pills are bad for you because your body does not need them, because their is nothing wrong with you other than being thirsty. DOnt eat anything, dont drink coffee, coke, pop (soda for you Americans) dont eat any candy, drink till you gotta pee, then you will feel better.

Forget pills.
Go out for a brisk early morning walk.
You'll feel better in no time.
