if it says .15 it is less then a quarter of a karat which is small it would go .25 / .50 .75 and 1.00 for 1/4 kt to a 1 kt ring

If the 15 is engraved on the band itself, then this is no indication of the carat weight of the diamond. Never will you see that because they manufacture the bands first, and then set diamonds later, not knowing what diamond will go where. Most likely it is some type of code or initail of the ring maker.

Well, it would either mean 15 carats, or .15 carats.... I would assume .15.... however, the carat weight of the diamond is generally not put ON the ring.... if you see a 15 stamped on the ring, that is referring to something else altogether

it would be 1/5 of a karat. it would take 5 of them to make a karat.
