Water balloons. Fill a bunch of balloons with water and let them either just have a water balloon fight, or they can take turns pitching to each other and they swing at them with a bat. My son loved this.

a really stupid game my sister and i made up.
how many kids r coming?
12, 16, 19?
say 12:
blow 12 balloons.
split the children up into 6`s
because they`re 12 children
half is six, so their in teams.
give them a time limit
such as 30 sec. (half a min.)
each child has 2 line up holding one balloon
the first person hands the balloon going under his/her legs
the second child hands the balloon to the third child over his/her head
repeat the pattern
the child @ the end of the line sits on the balloon until it pops (beware! Makes a veary loud noise when poped lol!0
after it pops, the children rotate positions
(the first child goes in the back, the second child goes in he front and so on...)
repeat the pattern until 30 sec. (or u`r time liit, u`r choice)
is over. the team with the more balloons poped wins
hope u`r child`s b-day party is as exciting and much fun as tis game is!

Hey I liked this when I was a kid! Take a gigantic box, fill it up with ones or whatever the kid likes...cigarettes, condoms... whatever... and fill the rest of the box with shredded newspaper and tape it up. shake it (then make him spin around or get him drunk (make him dizzy) and let him have a blast digging through it- then burn the box when your done. I loved have to "work" for my presents- or make a couple of teams and do a scavenger hunt! Make some clever clues ( things that rhyme with doobie) and let them find it!hope you have fun! haha!

Do a CSI theme and leave "clues" around for them to find and figure out.
I ordered one through this email address. It was a couple of years ago, hopefully still there.

I think you should just let them do their thing on their own. At that age they pretty much don't like "parents" arranging things for them. My twelve yr old laughs when I tell him I'll make him a party for his birthday. Let them do what 12yr olds do, just monitor them that they don't catch your house on fire and then feed them.
