I'm having a bit of a moral dilemma...I'm a student, and I'm tired of working for student slave rates...so i've started doing 'sensual massage' which is basically a 'proper massage', done naked, but with a hand job (w*nk, jack-off) in the end...for £50/hr...no sex invovled...that's good work right...

So why do I feel so bad about it! Obviously my family doesn't know because they wouldn't approve...but i'm doing it to support myself through college...

It's better than dancing...and it's not as bad as prostitution...right?

A hand job is sex? Even a BJ isn't sex, ask Bill Clinton!

That kind of massage is illegal because you're having sexual contact with your client, secondly most massage therapists have to have credentials of training and a license to be a massage therapist. If that's something you want to do as a side job maybe after you graduate, get the proper training for it and get licensed since it's a liability when you put your hands on someone. Get a part time job maybe at a restaurant or even someplace on campus, but sensual massages by an untrained and unlicensed individual is prostitution since you're having contact with the genital area. There are other ways to support yourself through college than to resort to something that low.

If it's making you feel guilty, then it's not for you. I don't know what you're planning to do after college, but if word gets around that you're giving such services, it could affect your ability to get a job upon graduation. No, it's not as bad as prostitution or stripping, but you are obviously having inner conflicts about it. Also, I think if your family would be disappointed in learning what you do, it would be best to stop now. Try just giving "regular" massages. Both male and females could receive them, which could double your clientele. And I know a couple of masseuses that make pretty good money, without the sensuality!

It's no different from prostitution, but so are many 'legal' jobs. I cold-called for Zenith Windows once, and felt like I'd sold my soul to the Devil! Then I worked in McD's, and I've had some dodgier 'occupations' than that, too!
At the end of the day, it comes down to how you feel about it. *YOU* are the only person that you have to answer to. Even your family has no right to judge you.
At the end of the day, if it takes up less of your time and pays better than waitressing or a 'straight' job, then you have more time to study, and money to buy food, right? Sometimes you have to choose the lesser of two or more evils.
Good luck, and don't listen to anyone who tells you you're bad because of this.

There's nothing wrong in sensual massage. I consider it perfectly acceptable that two adults can, in a professional manner, exchange money for sexual gratification. Even taking it to the next levels of oral or penetrative sex would still fall well within my views of acceptability. What two adults do behind closed doors is up to them, whether money is involved or not.

I wouldn't necessarily agree that this is 'not as bad as prostitution', as I don't consider either to be bad, just different levels. I don't think it's wrong - but from the tone of your question I don't think it's right for YOU.

Good luck in your studies - I hope you start enjoying your new job soon or it's back to student slavery.

You decide what is right and wrong. I don't personally think that masturbating men whilst naked is fundamentally wrong especially when you do it to support your studies. But most people I know would find ir shamefull. I think ultimately, the question to ask is: am I hurting anyone?
I work for a consultancy firm and last week one of my colleague was advising me to reflect on my ethical views becaused I was promissing abit too much to a client in order to sell a service. A few weeks ago, she had been working a weapons manufacturer. I think that even a prstitute has less to be ashamed of what she does for a living than a consultant who works for a weapon manufacturer, but for most people it is fine. Bottom line: you decide what is right and what is wrong, but don't assume that the majority are always right on moral issues because they are not otherwise there would be less misery in our world.

actually, with dancing you would not have to be giving the "hand job" and if it is NOT prostitution, then why do you feel bad? Because it IS prostitution. You are getting paid for performing sexual favors. Masterbation is sex. Just because you do not have intercourse with someone doesnt mean you are not prostituting yourself. Sex of any kind is still sex....Just ask Bill Clinton.

If you can earn £50 p/hr for a hand job, then I would suggest you keep on doin' it. You really aren't hurting anyone, but appear to be providing a social service. I would look for an EU grant to take the promote the job properly and learn to become ambidextrous.

I used to manage a motel in California in 1981.Lot of 15-16 year old girls droped out of school, because of big money in prostitution. They have the same arguments that they are not going to do it long. They will make money, get out of this profession and get married. What you thing after you finish your studies, you will quit doing it No,you will go a step further because there is more money there. You are young and may be beautiful too.Greed of money never ends.

It's up to you and nobody else but it is a form of prostitution whether you want to think it is or not. You're performing a sexual act on someone for money so that's what prostitution is. If you can't live with it stop doing it.
