You are on a ship, over the side hangs a rope ladder with half meter rungs. The tide rises a half meter per hour. At the end of five hours, how much of the ladder will remain above the water assuming that nine rungs were above the water when the tide began to rise? no cheating(looking on the web for the answer, UNLESS you cant figure it out)

Hi. I did not read any of the other answers yet so forgive me if the answer already appears, but assuming nine were above during low tide then nine would be above during high tide as the boat and the rungs would rise as the water rose. An easy way to chech is to look at the chain as you are vomiting over the edge do to your motion sickness. HAHA
