All my life I've had legs that are on the big size - my calfs are quite muscular because I walk fast and I've got big ankles.

The rest of me though is slim, you can feel the bones in my hips!

Now, I must admit, I've never really done anything to sort them out. But I'm not keen on running because I just think this will give me more muscle. I want them toned and slim more than athletic really - although Jeniffer Garner's got lovely legs!

Any ideas? I've got weights, a fitness ball and going to get some yoga stuff too...

I'm a size 8/10 in skirts - not in trousers because they won't go past my calves.

I'm also very fussy with my diet - don't eat fatty food and I'm a veggie.

Don't eat chocolate, crisps, meat, fried food.

Live on fruit, veg, sushi and mexican.

I suffer the same, genetics are a buggar! I'm afraid to say that running is the best way forward. It will tone, not build muscle. How about finding shoes and clothes that make you feel more confident. I doubt anyone else notices your hang up on your legs. Try to relax about it.

I've lost 5 kilos in my first week. It's my 10th day and I have included salad with some protein (eg. egg/ lean chicken) as you suggested. After 4 years of trying, the fat is finally coming off. It truly feels like magic!

Get started today!

Hi.Leg's are a very difficult part of the body to tone up are mass up. And one of the reason for that is. We use them all the time and there get burt out. But to answer you question is to tone. Swiming. Leg curls and quats in the gym. Useing light weights and high reps. Between 12 and 15 reps per set. Any kind of circuit triaining. And stretch them a lot when warm. Good luck. Hope you achieve your goal.

I'm guessing your legs are more a matter of genetics than walking fast. If you are already slim your legs probably won't get much slimmer than they are now. Runnning could give them more tone, though, and maybe you'll find out that your "fat legs" are really just a track star waiting to happen.

You sound as though you're built a bit like me. There is nothing you can really do to change them as it's how you are built. You can keep the flab off by swimming and you don't have to run miles but walking (especially uphill) will keep them as toned as poss.

I'll give you a bit of a dressing tip. I don't know about how like to dress but if you wear heels then the way you keep your calf tensed can give your leg a slightly slimmer appearance too. Although I wouldn't recommend you wear them all the time but it is something I do at times because if I want to wear a skirt that shows my calves it makes me feel a bit more confident about them.

Leg lifts, the tone without puttinf muscle there.. Lie on ya side and lift the leg above the hip for about 10 at a time until you can increase to about 50 on each side.

Trust me this does work, ive done it myself. I am quite muscular so I was told this is an alternative to muscle build.

Instead of sitting and reading through, listen to books on tape when you walk, clean, or garden.
