If you are having to finance any of your education, look for the best interest rates and repayment terms. Be careful of loans that offer very low payments over an excessively long term. Those payments get old in a hurry. It might sound good initially to have only a 50.00 a month payment, but over 30 years thats alot of money.

Stick with as many grants and scholarships as possible, only finance classes, books and fees. Do not finance everyday living expenses like food and lodging. If you can't pay for those things, live at home with your parents and go to school.

Also be careful to check out the new student loan rules. They have gotten much more difficult to understand and not all that great in terms.
