What is wrong with homosexuality?

The Bible constantly contradicts itself so please don't use God or the Bible as a reference!

Also--why is male homosexuality unacceptable whereas female homosexuality is okay?

The law contradicts itself just as much as the Bible does.

Some states allow a 14 year old girl to marry a 44 year old man with parental consent (her mother not his!) and magically it's no longer statutory rape or pedophillia. Now it's scantified marriage.

All the rape laws have it. Sex between anyone over 18 and anyone under 18 (17 or 16 in some areas) is statutory rape, unless they are married.

That's a contradiction of law. It's a crime if you're not married but not a crime if you are married.

So if the law can contradict itself, so can the bible.

I'm still trying to figure out what is so criminal for that pretty, slim, blonde school teacher in Florida who was doing a 14 year old boy. As a male, I'm still trying to figure out the crime in that one, other than it wasn't me when I was 14!

I mean if I had a son and he was going to have sex, I'd rather it be with a pretty, blonde 24 year old than a 14 year old he might knock up!

What's wrong with it is nothing. It's not even a crime anymore in most of the US and many countries.

Homosexuality is just a way of life although it bends the thinking process of many people including me. It's just a way of life.

The Bible says it is wrong, but so is fornication and mastrubation. Any christian or jew who mastrubates or has sex of any kind before marriage is just as vile and guilty as a homosexual action!

You also have to distinguish between the orientation and the action.

ALL sexual actions violate the bible.

FORNICATION was a felony in 30 states up until the year 1970. That means any of your parents who got knocked up outside of marriage in any of those states are a SERIOUS CRIMINAL.

This was most of the Midwestern states and most of the Southern states.

There were fornincation laws in Illinois, Indiana

So, if all you 40 year olds were born 6 months afer the wedding and your parents are from that state THEY ARE A CRIMINAL. A serious criminal. A FELON.

I keep wondering about the 16 or 18 year old guy who made a 10 year old girl pregantant about 10 years ago. As I recall he didn't spend one day in jail.

There goes stat rape and pedophilla laws right out the door.

No one has still explained to me why 15% of currently ACTIVE Catholic Priests still have sexual abuse cases still pending, most of these were with minor children. Most involved same sex offenses.

Where are the heresey rules of the Church. Martin Luther gets tried for heresey for questioning the Church policy while priests who get charged with peophilla crimes are still in practise.

So, in view of all this. How can we say homosexuality is wrong.

It should also be noted that up until about 1979 oral sex was a FELONY in virtually EVERY state in the US.

So everyone who licks and slurps remember that it was only a few short years ago that people called you a sexual deviate, pervert and Felon for doing that stuff.

Now everyone here is going to say what a saint they are, right!

Maybe we should re-institute ALL these laws. Maybe only MARRIED people should be allowed to have sex and this time let's fill the prisions up with sexual felons. This time let's actually arrest people at the office party for doing it in the warehouse. Let's book you, take your picture, finger print you, charge you with a Felony, put you on trail and sentence you for 2 - 5. Just for having sex.

Remember from 1890 to 1970 that WAS a felony in most of the US if you were not married.

You WERE considered a sexual pervert just for having unmarried heterosexual activites.

It is obvious that homosexuality is against the natural order of things.

If it were something natural, then homosexuals would produce children with that type of behavior.
I don't know where the Bible contradicts itself regarding homosexuality.
It's odd that you don't want any Bible or other religiously based answers being that you posted this question in the "Religion and Spirituality" section instead of in the "Cultures and Groups section".

There are disordered people in every walk of life.
I'm sure there are all kinds of decent/respectable people in the world. So let's just focus on the homosexual now.

The determining factors of homosexual tendencies deal with the environment of males as they are growing up. Most have fathers which didn't give them much attention, therefore they relied on their mother's guidance.
In turn, they lost the connectivity to manhood (maleness) and become effeminate. Ask a homosexual and how their relationship with their father was when they were young and you will find that most hated their fathers or it there was a male figure present, they were not a strong example, they weren't there for them.
Every boy yearns for the love of his father, and when the father is distant, meaning that the father has rejected his son, the son will grow up with the need to fill the viod caused by the lack of love by the father. As the boy reaches adolescence, this yearning will act itself out in sexuality.

Fathers, if you don't have a good healthy relationship with your sons, your sons will look for this attention in distorted ways. The son will be attracted to the first distorted male (homosexual) he comes in contact with and start living that kind of life.
This just doesn't happen overnight, its years of conditioning and rejection by the fathers toward their sons.

And as you know, this type of lifestyle has helped spread a deadly disease.

Well, I think that maybe you could consider it unnatural? Some people seem to be very confused about their sexuality, and I'm not sure exactly how they become homosexuals.

I don't look down on people for being homosexual because they aren't hurting anyone else and it can't be proven to be wrong (except by Bible thumpers, and they can't prove it either other than pointing to some scripture). So the best I can do is take a guess at why it could be wrong?

Nature universally pairs males and females together for the purpose of reproduction, and sexual pleasure is a by product of that act. Nature is not designed so that males can produce babies with males. So the best answer I could give you is that maybe some people feel it goes against the laws of nature.

However, having said that, regardless of how someone feels, homosexuals aren't hurting anyone else by their choices and as such, they should be respected. Most straight people I know have far worse skeletons in their closet than just doing a consentual sexual activity that isn't harmful to anyone else.

Sorry if that's not helpful, that's the best guess I can take as to why someone could say that it might be wrong.

First of all. Gays and lesbians aren't the only ones to engage in
"sodomy". Oral and anal sex.
Secondly, it doesn't take a genius to figure out that the body works hard to get rid of the poisons. And then humans engage
in abberated sexual desires, and get the poisons right back in
the blood stream.
We are trying to find something inside ourselves. The balance between the two aspects of the Lifeforce, we understand as the
masculine and feminine. Both of which our spirit is made of.
But we are trying to find this through external means. Dressing
up, acting out, and through sexual experimentation. It is
something we need to find within. In how we treat others.
Sex is not just a physical act. It is a spiritual act as well. We are helping our Creator to create LIFE!
There are very real spiritual forces at work during sex. Using
someone merely for sexual gratification will create things on
a spiritual level that will have to be atoned for later on.
It is more a matter of individuality than whether on is male or
female, straight or gay. And even homosexuals will still have to
deal with personality conflict, infideltity, and other things, if
there is no spiritual foundation.

Nothing's wrong with it. I think it's great. Here you have a group of people that by definition can't reproduce. I think they should get a tax credit for not contributing to the drain of natural resources and global pollution by having offspring. It is not too great a stretch of the imagintion to realize that people who can't reproduce, or choose not to, are the only hope left for this planet. The movie "The Matrix" makes a good point about the human mammal. That we're not really mammals - every other mammal on this planet learns to live in equilibrium with its environment. Humans do the opposite. They consume the resources, reproduce, and move somewhere else where there are still some resources left, reproduce some more, etc. I wouldn't dream of using the Bible as a reference, except to point out that "be fruitful and multiply" is one of the most spurious suggestions that that book puts forth. And no, I'm not gay, but me and my wife choose not to add to the world's population. Just doing our part. I cringe every time I see one of those "trying to conceive" questions on this website. I have so far restrained myself from answering those questions.

P.S. - I wouldn't worry about the whole planet becoming gay and thereby assuring the extinction of our species. That's a ridiculous proposition.

hey great question here . well to me being gay is a full male haveing sex with another full male or a female with a female. in my eyes both are equally wrong in my eyes and gods but most gays say they are born that way . in that case they are more women than man and god would judge this accordingly im sure for either side . the bible was written at a time when minds where very closed and people just didnt sin as often and passionately as we do today so many things cant apply to todays life or at least not as much . we see two men haveing sex as gross lol but two wemon as beautiful lol . this is wrong of course but this world is mostly run by men and they get hot over seeing two beautiful wemon doing anything naked together . dont worry i assure you god loves gays lizys and the president oops just as much as anyone else here and he knows their hearts and will judge them by this not other peoples views .

At one time or another all the following were "unnatural" concepts:
1 - Other races as actual people
2 - Women as equals
3 - Interracial marriage

And yes, the argument was ALWAYS, "Where do you draw the line?" And yes, they could ALWAYS find scriptural justification.

What's wrong with homosexuality?

It gives rise to TV "comedies" like WIll & Grace, keeps Abba around, supports the fashion industry and forces us straight men to wear "sylish" clothes our wives have bought us.

What's good about it is that it really annoys fundamentalists (of all religions)! This can only be a good thing.

Seriously, nothing is wrong with consensual (and private - nothing's wrong with it but I still find it gross) gay sex. At all.

Female homosexuality I am undecided about. I think I need to study the sex act between two women in detail in order to come to an informed view. Solely in the interests in coming to an informed opinion of course.

There is nothing wrong with homosexuality, and the Bible IS interpreted different ways (www.mccchurch.org), but, it is the thing most often used to BASH queer folks. I think God cries about that. As for people thinking lesbians are sexy and gay men are sick... well... its called Misogyny! Male superiority hates men who appear to give up their power or position.
