Learn it in small parts. Learn the first four bars, then learn the second four, then sing the two together. Keep adding until you feel confident; then do the same as you practice together.

Think that the lower part you have to sing is another melody. Maybe that will help you to learn better the notes. Then If you could sit on the piano and play the chords to help your ear to get use to the harmonies. Then Play the chords again and sing your part. If can't play piano you can ask some one to play the chords for you. You can do this also with a guitar.

When you study your lower part don't try to sing everything at once, study phrase by phrase and then connect one phrase to the other. Then, after you know all the notes well sing everything.

That will help you to be sure about the notes you have to sing, so, that way you will be more prepared to your performance.

This works, believe me

Have someone like your choir director or a music teacher either sing your part for you in a recording or play the notes in your part on a piano in a recording. Practice along with JUST your part...no other music or vocalist. Do this over and over until you can sing that part in your sleep. Then add the other persons part and sing along. If you have to go back and listen again you will always have the recording.

just relax get together with the other girl and practice till you both think it sounds good I don't think anyone will care if you can sing hi or low. It's Church and God know you will do your best. The more you worry about the more nervious you will be so practice a little with the other girl. You will do just fine. And with Gods help you will sound great.

make sure that you're really sure about your part before you put it together with the other girl. practice it in small parts until you know it like its the melody and not the harmony. then get together with the other girl and just RELAX. focus on the fact that you know th part and practice it in sections, just like you did on your own. just make sure that you learn your part really well first. that will make is so much easier. :)
