yes you can. my credit is less than 550 and i have been approved for many store cards. try target and walmart. also try macy's. they give out small credit lines for people with bad credit.

Yes. Store credit depends on the store are hoping to make money from the customer. If they think they can sell you extras or get you to take out some other credit that they have, they will give you card.

My advice to you would be to avoid store credit as the APR is a lot higher than a lot of credit cards.

from my experience working is such a store, I would say no. They have to know pretty much immediately if you are worth the credit risk. If you have questionable credit, I would say fill out a long form for credit and mail it in instead of the instant credit in the store.
