Society has an irrational fear of words. Religion is just a word. It means to do something in a ritualistic way, or like on a daily
basis.
Religion is the practical application of spiritual concepts in our daily lives. Associating with positive people. Reading motivational
and inspirational material. Meditation, "quiet time" for dealing with stress, and prayer, to keep the lines of communication open to
our Highest Power.

Your grammar was understood so I'm not going to crack on it. Religion is a symbol of belief. God is mostly associated with religion. Many people don't believe in God. If a person believes in God they should love him and follow what he says because he is the father of our spirits. How do we follow God if we don't know where he is going. All organized religions have texts (ex. the Bible) that have Words of the Prophets (messengers of God) so we do know what he wants by reading thease texts. One religion that I know of has a living prophet........ it'll take a lot more time to answer you Q. I hope this has helped though.

'Darkangel' has it right, "we don't"!!
In fact religion is the very last thing we need. I am an atheist which simply means that I don't believe in God, that's all, I don't believe in God!
However I really do respect your right to believe in God!
I have no respect at all for any religion, you do not need religion to believe in God, you need religion to follow a creed or teaching , which all differ in lots of respects, (esp' the Christian one)! Hence many of the worlds problems (not all problems but many)!
So a very brief answer to your question is , we dont!!

Religion is nothing but a hope. You remember god, if you need help.

Many a times, you resign to the fate and do not fight. But, if you are a religious person, you tend to pray god and ask for help. Once you do that, you trust that God will help you and you continue with the fight. This is mental courage is provided by religion.

And Religion also helps us in disciplining and to live life ethically.

Religion plays a very important part in daily life as a conscience to Government and Big Business. Imagine what Government and Big Business would do if people did not stand up and say think of the less fortunate.

Cause we humans are in one big huge gigantic scientific situation here, and we cannot grasp it even when we think we are grasping it -- and even when we think we are grasping it we are not really sure; and we need to know there is someone somewhere who knows what's happening.

And for this reason we have religion and gods. I myself have an imaginary religion, complete with gods and angels, and that helps a lot. I can use it in place of science. This is very comforting.

Not sure we need religion but we certainly need to a much more spiritual people. To show more tolerance of others and to be better citizens of the world. Unfortunately too many religions are not very tolerant of others or people who do not conform to their views.

there are reasons. there are three ways to maintain control in a Culture and Society through religion, politics and the military. the reason for religion is to explain and determine reasons for the different seasons, the natural phenomena of the heavens and provide comfort and relief for those who are in grief through sickness and death. to help provide a stable environment for those members of the Culture and Society by assisting in these and other various matters.

What do we need a religion for?
We don't, need 'a' religion, that is.
In the West we can each have our own opinions and our own practices to suit our own ideas and as long as it harms no one else, that's fine.
If your religion demands human sacrifice, we got a problem.
If your religion demands conversion by force, we got a problem.
If your religion demands murdering anyone who insults your prophet, brother we got ourselves a problem!

If we don't have Religion then what do we have. But the only true thing that really matters is a relation ship with Jesus Christ.
