It's not just teens - many people love changing hairstyles every month (or even every week) for variety. You know, "variety is the spice of life". I like changing my hair to try out different looks - why not? It's boring to have one hairstyle for years, and there are so many different colors and styles to try. Just like many people would get bored eating the same meal every day, or wearing the same clothing every week, some people get bored with their hairstyle quickly.

I don't think that particular phenomena is found only in teenagers. My 50 year old father changes his hairstyle every couple of years. My mother changes hers every couple of years too. I'm 25, and I change mine almost yearly. Most of my friends change every couple of years as well.
I think from time to time people just want a change, and a change in hairstyle is an easy and painless one.

like dresses, hair is a part of external personality. And it is not surprising that people, in particular teens change their hairstyles according to the prevailing fashion. Of course, it is not as easy to change your hairstyle as your dress, because you still have to grow the hair.

They concentrate too much on their looks. They don't realise that you represent yourself not by your external appearance, but by your character and the way you interact with others. Unfortunately, most of the rest of the world doesn't seem to realise this either.

It's not just reserved to teenagers; people of all ages do this. People do this because it's a fun thing to do.

Because they're fickle and don't know what they want, so they keep experimenting to find the right one, or the most unique style that every other girl will want to imitate
