in the past month ive lost 5 kg. a few days ago my bf broke up w me and i stopped eating (no apetite we all know that). im trying to recover and eat normal again but i guess it was too much for my body and today i ate every single junkfood there is (probably 3000 or more calories in total). Will i gain weight again even if i eat normal from now on? will my body end up looking like a whale by the end of the week or will my body just dispose of the extra 1500 cal and make no changes (that means stay the way it is)???

No, you won't gain loads of weight. It takes 3500 extra calories to gain a pound, so if you ate 1500 extra (what makes you so sure that you only burn 1500 a day anyway?) you'd gain 1/2 a pound at most.
But the human body is really remarkable and can adapt well. Overeating once in a while (especially after skimping on food for a few days) can jumpstart your metabolism. You may not even gain that 1/2 pound at all. It's not something to mess around with though. I'm sorry about your breakup too.

You can't gain weight over night so don't worry about it. However, are you sure this is a one time incident? Sometimes when we deprive our body of food (especially junk food) our body begins to crave it and it won't be satisfied until it gets it. This can lead to an overindulgence in whatever we have been keeping our bodies from eating. You might be too strict on yourself...if this is the case you should treat yourself at least once a week with something that you love to eat. Starving yourself is NEVER the answer. If you starve yourself your body will store any bite of food you take in as fat causing you to gain weight! Models and actors are NOT thin from starving themselves....do not be fooled! They are either using crystal meth or cocaine to become a shell of what they use to look like. It isn't worth it..The main thing is to find happiness within yourself!

Well, if you eat a kilo of food, your body weight increases by a kilo at that instant...(until you go to the bathroom to relieve yourself).. However in the long run, body weight increases only if your daily average calorie intake is more than what you spend while working.. So you do not need to worry if you have overeaten on one particular day

No, you can't gain weight by eating all junkfood for just one day. just go out and excercise if you're that worried about it. You only get fat if your lifestyle has you eating like you did that one day, every day. It's okay every once in a while to indulge yourself, and it's very understandable in your situation, but you won't get fat because you ate too many calories for just one day. Don't worry about it. You'll be fine.

eating controlled food combined with optimum excercise will keep your body fit and there is no question of weight gain with proper diet and excercise.

1lb= 3500 calories
you may gain weight initially but eventually when you eat normally, you will make up for the deficit and your body will adapt accordingly
