I think nature envokes different emotions to different people. Usually whenever I'm near water I find a renewed sense of calm and almost a driving force to conquer any issues I'm facing. If you become overwhelmed by negative emotions, then why do you go back. I mean I understand that without longing you don't appreciate greatness. But life is short. Find happiness. Good luck!

There is a theory that sea air produces 'ozone' which of course it can't since ozone only exists high in the stratosphere due to it's composition (O3). However sea air contains millions of negative ions which give out the feeling you get just after a thunderstorm or heavy rainfall. It gives a sense of calm and well-being which is the experience you're having.

It certainly is a most agreeable feeling and if ever I'm by the sea I love just to lean on the rail, look out to sea and let the overwhelming feeling of peace drift over me.

nostalgia is for known memories...deja vue....well, do you feel like you have been there before....because it doesn't sound like deja vue either....I think it sounds like a past life experience. Perhaps you lost a love long ago to the sea.....forever waiting for his return.

I felt at home in England in a way I never had in the US....I think it went to the same thing.....

the sea itself is a romantic, it takes your breath away when its rough and the waves r crashing against the sea walls, and its warm to your heart wen ya hand in hand walking the beach's, or wen ya standing on the harbour walls with the sea breeze is whispering thro ya hair, you can obtain peace and tranquility as the sun sets if your lucky enough to b on that side of the coasts, enjoy
