Do you agree with this?
Mary had a little lamb,
His fleece was white as snow.
And everywhere the children went,
The Lamb was sure to go.
He followed them to school each day,
Twasn't even in the rule.
It made the children laugh and play.
To have the Lamb at school.
And then the rules all changed one day,
Illegal it became;
To bring the Lamb of God to school,
Or even speak his Name.
Everyday got worse and worse,
And days turned into years.
Instead of hearing children laugh,
We heard gun shots and tears.
What must we do to stop the crime,
That's in our schools today?
Let's let the Lamb come back to school,
And teach our kids to pray!

Ignoring your bit of lame doggerel itself, your point seems to be that school violence in the USA is because "god" has been taken out of schools.
Unfortunately for your position, the inconvenient facts are that countries that are much much more secular and atheistic than the USA, such as Canada, Japan, and all of Europe don't suffer from Columbine like incidents to the same degree as the US. It has much more to do with the "gun culture" and availablity of weapons, and the cultural poverty of the USA in general. Murder and other violent crime rates are also much lower in those countries. We also have much lower levels of incarceration. Historically, the USA was born in a violent revolution, and has always been a violent country.
Rethink your argument, as you are wrong. Not to mention delusional to think that forcing children to worship your fictional sky fairy will reduce school violence. (Oh yeah, and reconsider your career path as a poet...)
Prayer is superstition...may as well wish on a star or rub a rabbits foot

Nope. How about this? For the past 2,000 years man lived for an average of 40 years. In the past 100 years or so, this has been extended to the mid-70's. During this time, we "kicked god out of the schools" yet the average age continues to go up? People live longer and healthier than ever before in human history. Crimes are easier to solve with modern science. The average americans life is almost incomparably easier than even a very rich person from 300 years ago. We have fewer diseases, life-threatening accidents, stillbirths, etc...
I for one am glad that we kicked god out so we could have these wonderful benefits of living longer and healthier. If asked to choose, I would pick this way every time.
Plus, you have all morning, all night, all weekend, and all summer to indoctrinate your child into your preferred style of mythology. Why do you insist on those 8 hours when the child is at school? You can pray from breakfast time all the way until the child arrives at school.
In fact, the child can pray at school any time he/she wishes!! But an adult will not be leading the prayer. Is that such a difficult system to live under?
In the US, about 30,000 people are killed by guns and about 80% of the people believe in god. In Japan, a few hundred are killed each year and they have NEVER had prayer to god in school and very few are xian. Now what?

YES I agree,GOD has been taken out of our schools, when i was a child we started every school day w/ a prayer. Now if our children do that they get in trouble,Is Satin at work.I think so, all we can do is not give up, and keep praying, But every thing must come to pass ( as the Bible says.)We as parents have to make sure we teach our children about GOD and Heaven, and even the devil, so they will know how to follow the right path. and pray to GOD the head the word.

No, I don't agree at all. It is clear that Christianity doesn't stop violence - you can look to the crusades, the Klan or you can look at our current Christian president's actions - he's directly responsible for the deaths of tens of thousands of innocent iraqis and as many americans dead as bin laden killed.
This little bastardization of the Mary Had A little Lamb poem makes this mistake: it confuses correlation with causation - and pretty poor correlation, too. The people writing and liking such rhymes believe that when Americans prayed in school all was well and when they stopped all went to hell.
Well, while Americans prayed in school, black men were hung for looking at white women or speaking up after mistreatment or for whatever reason the sick psychopathic sons of the south dreamed up. Incest was rampant and unspoken as was extrememe physical abuse of children. And that's just the beginning of what was wrong with America while we were praying in schools.
A big thing that has changed in our culture (no big problem has one cause) is the family. Day care spelled the end of neighborhoods and the end of the neighborhood brought about the calamatious unhinging of the adult world from the child's world.
My children have never been religiously trained and they are very ethical, very gentle, very respectful. One religious boy in their homeschool theatre troupe named our eldest as his role model for 'respect for authority.' What children need are intact, functioning, loving, ethical families. They don't need to chant someone's mumbo jumbo words to an invisible sky god who morphs to suit the interests and bloodlust of the ruling class - a class that uses this religious nonsense to divide and conquer, screwing over all of us.

I'd love to see it happen, but have my doubts. That's why we have been given the freedom to send our children to Christian Schools or Homeschool. It is a difficult time for children, they see so much, these damnable computers if not controlled by Mom and Dad give them unlimited access to smut, the same with television. I respect those who have the couragae to live simple lives without these things and move into the country to raise their family in a protected manner, that they may focus on Christ and worship and living Holy.

I think you're blowing things out of proportion a little. I mean, one school shooting happens and people act like every school everywhere has bullets flying through the hallways.
And no one is saying that nobody can say the Lord's name in schools---that would be a violation of the First Amendment. All they are saying is that it cannot be forced on students.

I understand your meaning but I must say that Jesus can never be kicked out of anywhere because we carry Him within our very hearts. Just because we are not allowed to publicly acknowledge him, we can and always will be able to do so privately. Jesus will never leave us, despite how others try to get rid of Him. We need to teach our children how to take time to talk to Jesus from the silence of our hearts, glorify Him, and Thank Him for His presence within us.

in private schools owned by a church it is perfectly fine, in public schools this could be considered offensive to jews, muslims, atheists, and tom cruise. due to the diversity of people in public schools, you cant just have christian prayer, you would need prayer from other religions as well. we have to be fair to people of all religions, because to be ignorant of other people's beliefs is rather unchristian dont you think.

Oh my. These are the words of the delusional. Not meaning to offend but have you considered that in Canada, where in terms of percentages, less than half the number of Christians who attended church in 1945 attend church now - yet we do not have the level of murder or school shootings that America has? Now why do you think that might be? The operative word here being, "think."
