i have this friend who got hooked up wit this guy by me but how do i know he's good or not

Don't worry about it, let them figure out if they are good/bad for one another.
For yourself, though, you'd be able to tell by just having a bad feeling about it...go with your instinct.

You got your friend hooked up with a guy and now you are having second thoughts about the guy... err, wouldn't it have been better if you had him checked out first before recommending him?
Ask your friend... except that if you see that they are getting along well together, that kind of question to your friend will come across as a meddling inquiry.

Gut feeling is usually a pretty good judge. If you are outside of the relationship you don't have the blinders that people in the situation tend to find.
