limewire is the safest and the best site,go to http://www.limewire.com/english/content/home.shtml,and download the installer
i used to be a bit paranoid about using filesharing programs but i have found limewire totally safe if you follow sensible precautions like
a)scan all files you download
b)do not download any very small files(500kb or less),these are generally where you find viruses
c)if you do not want to open your files to the rest of the internet,go to options>uploads>slots>then set to zero,this will stop any outside sources being able to acsess your p.c,s files
i have found songs on this site which i thought i would never hear again,and its really easy to use

I use to love kazza it was the best out there but when it went down hill.
The best and closest one to kazza is Limewire
So go with Limewire

Kazaa is probably the worst. Avoid BearShare. It used to be really good, and it was easy to use, but the new ad-supported version is crap. It will give you mucho adware, and new versions try to install automatically from whatever source you are downloading, not even directly fro BearShare. The best is Morpheus. It is a little more awkward, but it has a wider search than just the Gnutella network. Limewire and E-Mule are on the Gnutella network, Morpheus will give you everything they give you, and more. It is free unless you want the premium edition. (Note you still have to watch what you share, and don't get caught breaking copyright laws.)

Don't use limewire, it is loaded with adware!
I use Ares (www.ares.com) and if I can't find it on there I may go to www.mp3sugar.com which is not free but you pay only about 15 cents per song. I also use bittorrent but there is no easy way to search for music or (anything else you might want to download).
