Joy is when your spirit laughs.

Joy is internal satisfaction by doing some good deed, helping a person in need...... Joy will be permanent. But i would not want to confuse that with pleasure. In the sense that v get pleasure in many good and bad things. If we earn some extra $. Buy an flashy car, move into a bigger and a more plush apartment. I would qualify these as pleasure. In which the person is happy temporarily. And again he is craving for more soon after. But joy or happiness is from within the ones own self. In that v can say that ones soul is happy.

Joy is a human emotion that brings a smile to the face and a smile to the heart. Joy was the first time I saw my newborn son's face. Joy is when my San Antonio Spurs won their third championship. Joy is gliding through the water on a hot summer day. Happiness is easier to come by, joy is rare.

BTY, I love how you always specify no copy/paste and scripture.

Once again, Spooky - you've come up with a wonderful question!

Given everything that I've gone through in this life, and given events that have taken place in the last few weeks, I would have to say that joy is a direct result of love. Joy cannot exist without first love being in existence. Once you are able to sense, at the deepest, most core level of your being, at an organic or cellular level that you are loved, then and only then can the true meaning or definition of joy be present in your life.

Joy is full acceptance and love of self - warts and all.

Once that happens, everything you touch, you touch with joy. You cannot help but smile because your inner warmth and love is being shared.

Joy is the expression of love.

Joy is what you lose when you have been traumatized by any kind of abuse and no one can either make it go away or ensure it will not happen again somehow. That is what I observed as a counselor. What I understand from that is when a person sees that this world is utterly depraved and there is no place to really be safe then that quality of joy disappears. Knowing that God will take care of you when all is said and done if you trust Him brings it back.. Have not known anyone to have arrived at step two and been re=traumatized so I do not know bout dat.

JOY is my most favourite word ever. To me JOY means, that I am happy, content, and felling that everything is just the way it is suppose to be at this moment in time. Laughter and Joy are what the world needs more of.

Joy is the feeling I get when my 5 year old says I love you. It is the feeling I get when a prayer is answered. It is the happiness that surrounds me when I wake to a new dawn and can share more time with my loved ones. It is the quite peace I find in prayer.

to me real joy is when i lay down at night beside who i consider the most beautiful woman in the world and she cuddles up to me and tells me how much she loves me , and i realize how rich I really am and how God has blessed me with such a wonderful life.of love ,and i realize that even though we drive old vehicles and have trouble just paying bills each month ,and we have to do our shopping at Walmart in order to afford the things we need..and that so many of the dreams we have , will always be just that (dreams) ..
But God has blessed me and my family with love for each other , hearts to help others and the desires too help others, wonderful children who feel love and want to be home with mom and dad when their friends are out causing hell..and a heart to put each other ahead of materialism ..or careers..
Ya i would say joy to me is being poor in the eyes of the world. but rich in the things that really matter , the world can have the big bank account , the new cars and trucks , the big name given from climbing over hurting people to get to the top, the boats and vacations...because we have each other in this family that will all be beside each other on our death beds telling each other how much we love each other and that we will be together soon again, and be able to take that step we all take with complete peace of knowing its just a stepping stone to something far better...
