They are the word of God given from God to Moses and yes they are valid. Jesus came to fulfill the law, not to negate or change it.

They were written by God himself and inscribed on stone tablets that were given to Moses to teach the people with. Now if you were to talk with a Jewish Orthodox Rabbi you would learn there were actually 613 commandments that are mentioned in the Old Testament of the Bible or the Torah which is the Jewish Bible without the New Testament. The New Testament shortened the commandments down to 10 as it was being written by man.

Good question; there are two possibilities that I can see:
1. They were written by three Hebrew authors (or groups of authors) between 922 and 622 BCE based upon ancient Hebrew myths and legends.
2. Their original source was in Pagan documents written by Hittites or Egyptians which were plagiarized and added to by ancient Hebrew writers.
The first four commandments are absurd, as is the tenth. Therefore, taken as a whole, the ten commandments are definitely not valid.

Don't open the arc, you will perish. The original 10 were written by God, later broken, Moses wrote them down as God spoke on limestone.

Like the rest, God did. He wrote them with his own finger, so that we would all understand how to follow him.
Don't get confused with Moses, he just witnessed this event take place, and brought the commandments back to the people of israel.

Moses went to the top of Mt. Sanai where God spoke to him and told him to write down what he said. What God had Moses write down was the comandments, so the commandments were authored by God but Moses was the secretary who took down the note (to put it simply).
God said "I am the Lord your God, I do not change." Therefore the commandments are valid cuz God gave them and doesn't just change his mind for the fun of it.

God is the author of the Ten Commandments. He gave them to the nation of Isreal to serve as guideposts for living. They are essentially a summary of the Jewish law, the first dealing with our relationship with God, the latter our relationships with others. A great resource to look into that may help with your questions is gotquestions.org ...God Bless.
