The leaders are not supposed to fleece the flocks but to tend the flocks.
1 Peter 5:2-3 (New King James Version)
2 Shepherd the flock of God which is among you, serving as overseers, not by compulsion but willingly, not for dishonest gain but eagerly;
3 nor as being lords over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock;
They are supposed to be servants of the people and not to exercise domination over the people. There is a difference between authority and domination ... and some leaders don't get it.
The grec word for "ministry" is "diakonia", it comes from the verb "diakonien" that means "to serve". But now, some people see ministry as "power" and not as "service". Pastors are at the head of churches and some of them are expecting that the people "serve" them by giving them their money ... they twist the scriptures .... it's sad, very sad!!!! They are abusing the people of God.
Study your Bible and see what it says about the true leaders. If you love God and His Word, God would show you where something is wrong with a church ... maybe you will not have all the understanding but your heart will warn you that something is not right and is in contradiction with the Spirit and the Word of God.

there are times when a leader needs to show his authority by wearing a fancier outfit than those who follow. after all he/she is a leader and one who leads must look the part in order to get their respect. what would you think of a leader who dresses in tee shirt and jeans? in many cases " the clothes make the man. "

Yea, I wonder sometimes how the Leader has a real nice House and Car, better than those who support them. NOT all are this way, but, some.

That is what I hear about John Hagee's Cornerstone. It is a fashion show and most of the people are rich snobs. They'd just about have to be for him to pay for his million dollar mansion.
