Teasies?

If you want to work in the service industry which could be anything from working at a restaurant to working in retail to working for large hotels, the prime quality you need is to actually LIKE people.

Then the second quality is to actually give good customer service.... know your product, be friendly but not ingratiating. Smile, be helpful, no matter if your dog died or your gramma don't take it out on the customers. Don't assume someone can't afford your product because they're not dressed in the latest fashions. And don't ignore your customers ,even if the person you work with has the juiciest piece of gossip, wait for your break or after work to talk about that. There's nothing that makes me want to walk out of a store or a restaurant or fast food place when the help is congregated whispering or totally nowhere to be found when you want to buy something or ask a question.

Whether your bosses stress it or not customers are your bread and butter, they are the raison d'etre, without them no business, no job, so always be polite and welcoming and well informed.
