Erudite, You might be ashamed of your time in the marines. This is America, so that's your privilege. I put in more time in the Second World War, and am quite proud of my record, the army, and the nation.
However, there is one favor I'd like from you. Can I borrow that crystal ball of yours so that I can tell what's going to happen in the future like you're doing ?
We will not win the war!!!! Can you predict the future ?
We'll go down in shame !!!! Same question.
Crow meat !!!!! I love you sickics .

I take real offense to this question being a Marine that just got back less than a month ago. You have the right to oppose this war but dont put down the people that follow orders. I relate us doing our job ( witch is to follow orders ) to someone having a drivers license just because you dont like the speed limit doesnt make it right to speed and if you get caught then you get punished. You dont have to have a license, you volunteered to get it. We volunteered to fight for this country and we are in no position to change what goes on, we obey lawfull orders that get passed down. If you want to hate someone hate Bush but support the troops .

I've never made a secret of my feelings for Bush or my opposition to the war, but to imply that any member of your armed forces be abused or mistreated in any way is beneath contempt. They are doing what they must do and I pray God protects them all, yours, ours(Canadian) and all the coalition forces. I was also opposed to the war in Vietnam, but it disgusted me the way the vets were treated when they returned home. They do not make the policy, they obey orders. Hate your politicians but always respect your armed forces.

I do not support Bush and I do not support the war in Iraq. But I do respect the men and women of the armed services. I would not be here if it wasn't for them, thank you very much.
Much love goes out to the Armed Services of the United States of America.

eRUDEite is a good name for you. It may or may not have been a mistake to go to Iraq, but support of the president and vice versa is what makes this country so great. The marines will NEVER go down in shame to fight for what they believe in. Just because you have a different (possibly, wrong) opinion, don't show your ignorance by spewing such nasty rhetoric.

Marines that support Bush should be tried as war criminals.
"Following orders" didn't work at Nuremberg, and shouldn't work now. The War Crimes Act of 1996 makes it clear that US soldiers that follow illegal orders commit a crime. Bush's orders to invade and occupy Iraq are criminal..."aggressive war" is what the Nuremberg prosecutors called it.

What's wrong with you? The Marines are not over there because they support Bush! They are over there because they support the country and because they have honor, unlike yourself. See, those who went to Viet Nam went because THEY had honor and supported the United States, not Johnson or Kennedy. Those who went to Korea went because they supported the United States, not because they supported Truman. Those who fought in WWII, like my uncle who died in France, did so because they had honor and supported the United States, not Roosevelt. You need to grow up and stop being so immature and foolish. Fighting in this war if you are a soldier doesn't mean they do or don't support the sitting President. It means they have self respect and are mature and realize that they fight for the United States of America.

The United States Marines support and defend this country first. They serve the president of the United States in the chain of command. He is the commander and Chief of all armed forces.People who attack our marines are not attacking the president through them, they have a real problem with all our men and women serving in the armed forces. I have always felt that they hate what they lack in themselves, courage, honor and love of country.

We have already been defeated in Iraq, we just have not publicly admitted that. But I do not think we should "beat up" on the military who are still there fighting this hopeless war. Most of them are young men and women, many are people of color, who would not agree with their political commanders, including President Bush. We need to help these brave young people get out of there and we have to do something to get the international community to provide a buffer for the people of Iraq because they are suffering most of all.
