This is a more complicated question than it appears. It's not the religion in and of itself that is the issue, but the people who are in leadership positions within the religions.ANYTHING can be twisted to suit a person's purposes, regardless of what the philosophy of that belief system, or lack thereof is.

Less argument. All three of those groups have their own idea of what enlightenment is, 2 of those leave out deity (Atheism and Buddhism). Paganism doesn't try to sell itself. There is no reason to convert a person, no proselytizing. Though Atheists would probably still view Paganism as "insane" simply because many have beliefs in Higher Being(s), they would be less inclined to bother with Pagans, because most don't push their religion.

Of course, this is less argument concerning what Religion, or lack thereof, is a more correct way of living. We'd probably still fight about politics. lol

Judaism is much much closer to the bottom three than the top three, sorry.

From the CIA world factbook "Protestant 52%, Roman Catholic 24%, Mormon 2%, Jewish 1%, Muslim 1%, other 10%, none 10% (2002 est.)"

There are more people who proffess to be atheists and list themselves as other, than Jews or Muslims combined, so in a sense, situation you propose actually exists.

As a Buddhist, I can honestly say I would not want everyone in the world to follow my religion. I believe all religions hold truth, that we are all climbing the same mountain. We look at someone climbing a different path and laugh at them, thinking that they are going the wrong way, but the closer to the top we get the more we understand that we are all striving for the same thing.

Bigez: Actually, that's because Buddhism is dominant in countries with badly-run governments. Not because of religion.

I honestly think there would be less slinging of hatred. Maybe the Atheists would be *****, but Pagans are taught never to hurt anyone and Buddhists just never do hurt anyone.

This new world would be very environmentally healthy, less violent and quite a bit more hedonistic, if that is possible. Also a lot more cerebral. This is judging from the 3 top faiths ethics and creeds.

sorry to tell you but I dont think it would be any different.

Some pagan group would come around and claim that it was the only "true" form of Paganism and the rest were lies. Then we would be back a square one.

Very confusing.
Most of the kids who call themselves Pagans don't really agree about what they believe.
Atheists don't believe in anything, do they? Or did I miss the point?
Buddhists wouldn't be too interested in anyone else, just as they aren't now....

it would be better because:

A) Atheists dont believe in god, so there are less crazy fanatics

B) Paganism is more tolerant becuase of the variety of gods

C) Buddhists are cool becuase they are quiet, peace loving guys
