The meaning of a word is complex. A word usually stands for something - in your case the two words stand for the same thing. However, they have a meaning that classifies them as stylistically different. It a word is often used in rude language and with rude connotations, then it acquires the additional meaning of ''rude'' and becomes a rude word. Then it becomes stylistically inappropriate to use the word at the stylistic level it does not belong to. Example: try to use ''vagina'' when cursing, or "c....." in a medical text. In both cases the result will be funny.

The Birth Cannal was OK but has now become a Vagina, my mother would never say the first phrase, unless with a doctor at the "v" word would explode as for the "c" word there would be a 10,000 year radio active no go area.

It's called socialisation. What you'r use to.

The Anglo Saxons only used the "c" word, which fell out of favour when the french bastard came over in 1066.

If you don't understand the difference without explanation, there's no use in trying to point out anything to you. A garbage mouth is awfully hard to cure.

'I have a big C*ck' (when referring to your unfeasibly large male chicken) .. That's safe! I have a big Dick (when answering the question: 'Dont you have a son..whats his name you know...little Richard, is it') , because Richard has grown and become a man & he prefers his macho tag! ... That's safe too!

I see what you mean!
