Girls are more self conscious about their appearance. Even on a web cam, they wanna make sure they have their hair done, or make up on before they turn it on. It's just a girl thing. We always have to look our best to be seen. :)

Based on just a small sample of people, my friends and acquaintences, guys are much more likely to own a cam than women. I don't spend my money on gadgets, I have other things to spend it on. However, I know a lot of guys that have cams and only one of my female friends has one. I'm female and I don't have one and won't get one unless someone gives it to me as a gift because I have better things to do with my money.

Sure. Girls are much more worried about how they look. They can make up a description to entice you to want to chat more, but they may fear that if you see their pic you won't like what you see and reject them. At least that's how I feel.

she may not be a girl(worst case). She may be concerned about her looks as well.She could be underage and doesnt want to tell you.(actulay now that i think about it thats the worst case)

~I think it's because we like to look nice..and a lot of times we are sitting at a desk or just hanging out all comfy at home and we dont look our best...soooo you could say its a vanity thing~~~> :o}
