call the irs and tell them u can only pay whatever u can afford, they will still cahrge u for the penalties. They will not take that off at all. But I used to be a bill collector for governmt student loans that were given to peopale for grants, and they wouldnt pay uncle sam back, so they garnished their wages, As long as u pay $5.00 a month, plus penalties, they cannot garnish your wages at all. At least u r paying something right.? The other day in the mail. the IRS sent me back a check for $1.49. I overpaid them. I was shocked. Anyways make sure u at leat pay $5.00 every month. Good Luck!!!!

Look you need to find a good tax attorney. He will look at your whole situation and will advize you. Then he will contact the IRS with a proposal for a meeting or he will write a proposal in writing. Normally this is done to help ease time constraints for everyone. If the IRS accepts his proposal, then the tax attorney that you hired will fill you in on the details. I am telling you this is the best and the cleanest way to deal with this. Sure you are going to have to pay a tax attorney, but that is what these people specialize in. I do not have any idea of how much taxes you are talking about, but it sounds like you have a mess on your hands. So tommorrow look in the yellow pages where you live or go to yahoo search bar and do a search for tax attorneys. The sooner you address this the better off you will be. Good luck.
