This is like asking, why isn’t my sock drawer organized like yours? Organizations change because of the individuals involved, much the same way that a family is different from another family, or a business is different than another business. The Catholic Church itself is a different organization itself from the Anglican Church which is also under the umbrella of Christianity. Why organizations or groups or anything with people involved become distinct is simply because the people involved make choices that are different than that of the people in another group. Perhaps the best way to put this in an example for you is to say that a public school is organized differently than a Catholic school because of the choices made by the people involved both in the past and present. You can chose to join an organization and then make changes to the organization to make it similar to another, but then why join the initial organization in the first place?
To answer your second question “Wouldn't things be easier for them if it was?” I’m not sure if you know much about the Islamic faith or if you only know what you’ve picked up on television. I’m sure you will not be easily influenced by me as I’ve seen on this sight before that there is a tremendous amount of ignorance and hatred towards the people of the Islamic faith. To say that things would be “easier” for them is purely a comment which does not render much logic or rational reasoning whatsoever. People need to respect each other for their differences and learn to live with diversity in order for anything to be any easier on a global front. This same kind of logic or reasoning of enforcing religious views upon others is what people do when they are uncomfortable with other’s beliefs or views. People who cannot see beyond their own religion or point of view, and can only see one answer are usually looked at as, narrow minded, ignorant, and small. Not that I would chose any of these names to describe you because I know nothing about you. However, making a judgment on someone that you know little or nothing about is usually known as stereotyping and prejudice. I’m not sure if you are aware of this thing called racism but it’s very similar to this concept. People become afraid of something and the place judgment on it and then condemn an entire group of people based on the actions of few.
I’m not sure it would be “easy” for the Islamic faith to re-organize their faith to look identical to the Catholic religion and I’m not sure it would be “easy” for them to choose to abandon their faith and then join Catholic religion. I’m not even sure what kind of point you are trying to make by posing such a question but it seems that you might need to try and re-evaluate your views on world religion/culture. Let me ask you this, would it be easy for you to just abandon your views on Christianity, stop believing in Jesus, stop celebrating Easter, and Christmas and then to convert to Judaism or Buddhism?
You might want to pick up a history book and learn about yourself and how you came to this continent. People of Europe fled their nations because of religious oppression and people enforcing their views upon them. Now you are condemning an entire faith based on what you know on CNN and daytime television and suggesting that they switch to your view. It’s always easy to see things from your point of view. Perhaps make it a point to realize that other people are entitled to their point of view as well. If you would like to enforce religion upon people join Jehovah Whiteness, the catholic religion doesn’t need sales people. Also, please don’t pose a question like that again, your question, as unintentionally ignorant as it might be offends me as a fellow Christian, comments such as these make our religion look bad and give reason for ignorance and war to prevail. In answer to your question, perhaps you are the one who needs to re-organize. Wouldn’t it be easier for you if you just learned to accept others as they are?

Islam is the same as the Catholic church. You person says this and another says that. One says things are one way and the other says they are the other. One believes strictly in their religion and others believe somewhat in their religion.
There are many ways of killing people, the muslims, that is, the miliant ones just use a more straight forward way. And, not to make excuses for them, but all they want is to be left alone and that just seems to not be possible for us to do.

Why isn't the Catholic church organized like Islam? Wouldn't the members be more devout? Why aren't apples more like oranges? And for heaven's sake why aren't cats more like dogs? Wouldn't they be better if they were more loyal and less independent? We must learn to celebrate the diversity in our world.

And, have the head of the organization be corrupt and money hungry like the Vatican is? Why would they want that?
As Islam covers many countries, this would not be practical. There are too many cultures to consider.

Because the Catholic church is a nation, same as any other nation, and has an emperor (pope) who dictates to his subjects. And relies on them to support his royal lifestyle.
Islam is a religion without an emperor dicating to his subjects or leeching off them.

What do you mean, a system where you buy your way into heaven (catholics) instead of suicide bombing people with different beliefs (islam)
I suppose your right. They've got all that oil money so that should easily be able to give the pope enough money he'd give them one of those get into heaven passes

I find one aspect of you question fascinating. And wish I knew more about it. They do have Mosques, but wonder if conscious decision was made not to Romainize. Weekly services, social clubs, schools. Some capitalist will get them selling statues of one of these days.
