Really that is a good question.I believe that there is three main reasons.
Just because you are saved does not mean that awful things can't
happen to you. Saved and lost experience bad things.
[1] Rom 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
Sin in the world.Sin causes hurt and pain and death.Everybody
in the world is effected by sinful man.There has been multitudes
of women,men,and children be put to death by dictators,and
Godless religions and civilizations in history.

[2] God uses the very thing that the devil means to kill and destroy
to help Christians to grow in faith.God is more concerned with
our Holiness than our blessings.Look at Job.
Job 1:6 Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them.
Job 1:7 And the LORD said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.
Job 1:8 And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil?
Job 1:9 Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, Doth Job fear God for nought?
We know the awful things that happened to Job but through the hard
times Job had a personal meeting with God and GREW IN FAITH.Not
only did Job grow in faith in the end Job had twice as much as he had
before his troubles started.Job 42:10 And the LORD turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before

[3] I believe that when we as Christians are hurt by sin it gives us
the opportunity to exhibit our LOVE for our fellow man even
though we are hurt by the other persons sin even though they
may not be saved.If the person is our brother or sister in Christ
the love we extend to them will heap coals of convection on
them causing them to repent and come back in fellowship
sooner.Rom 12:19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.
Rom 12:20 Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.
Rom 12:21 Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.
Good people hurt because either God wants to draw the lost to salvation or God wants to make his followers more like Jesus.
