I just can't make a decision

Everyone has given great answers, despite the fact that it is a tough choice! I prefer German Shepherds for their loyalty, trainability, and protectiveness! I like Siberian Huskies, but I have never had one, so I can't give you an honest opinion. Whether you want a one person dog or a family pet, I do know that a German Shepherd would do well!

You would have to take into consideration your living situation in order to decide on what is suited to that as well! I can see a German Shepherd as a semi-indoor dog, but somehow I can't picture it for a Husky. Either way, you will come out a winner, as both dogs are great!

I remember the Siberian Husky we had when I was a kid. That dog was so great. He was very good with kids. The only problem I remember with the Huskies (we had an Alaskan Husky too) was that because of their breeding as sled dogs, they had very strong legs and could literally jump over our six foot fences in the back yard, which had to be elevated to eight feet.

I have had many friends with Sheps too, which were and are great dogs. They always seemed a little less friendly and playful than the Huskies. The Sheps seemed a little less inclined to be beta and you had to assert your dominance more before they recognized you as the alpha.

If you plan on having kids around, I'd really recommend the Husky. I think they are a more beautiful breed as well, albiet similar to the German Shepherd.

If you still can't make up your mind (they are both great breeds), I'd say, flip a coin. You simply can't go wrong on this one.

I have two huskies and they are wonderful dogs, However they do shed a lot and huskies will run away when ever they get the chance so they must never be left off of a leash. I have always wanted a german shepherd i think they are great dogs too. The one's we get where i work are always so sweet. However there are the exceptions. Both dog breeds need a good stong handler. If not trained and taught manners both can be very mean and nippy. I have only met two shepherds that were just evil and one attacked one of our workers and i have met one husky that we couldn't touch. As long as you plan on being a responsible pet owner and train them properly both can be really great dogs. I personally like my huskies though.

Its going come down to your perference and more or less should be based on what you want in a dog. We have both in our family. The Huskies are more hyper than the Shepherds. The Huskies tend to be friendlier and less of a guard dog. The Shepherds have always been easier to train, and I quess that is because the Huskies want to run and play more where as the Shepherds are on the more serious side. Their coats are pretty much the same as far as care goes. If you want a guard dog go with the shepherd if you want a friendly hyper dog go with the husky.

I would choose the German Shepherd over the Huskie any day, simply because the Huskies, in general love to around people so much, they are worthless in helping you, should you be attacked by man, or beast.Don't get me wrong, Huskies are wonderful dogs, if all you are looking for is an affectionate companion.

I love German shepherds more, but I won't say that they're "better" than Huskies. They each have their own personalities, strong points, and weaknesses. It just depends on what kind of dog best suits your needs.

I will say that one of the best dogs I ever owned was a Husky/Shepherd cross named Max. He was a cantankerous old coot with more brains than any dog I've ever seen before and a personality (slightly warped though it was) that wouldn't quit. I miss that ornery old fart.

Maybe a crossbreed Husky/Shep is the perfect dog for you, too.

it depends. german shepherds have a steady temperament and r highly trainable. siberian huskies r frendly but also have a reserved temperament. germans r about 65-80 lbs siberians r about 43-52 lbs.
hope that helps

OOOHHH> Hard choice. Both are wonderful (all dogs are wonderful) I have a G.S. so I have made my choice. With her by my side I traveled through some questionable parts of the US and Mexico. Always felt safe. Along the way we found a very sick border collie abandoned on a mountainside in Mexico. She joined our den and is now totally devoted to the Shepard.

German Shepards are the best dog of all. Huskies get snappy.

both of them need alot of care given to them. I have a Huskie and she has to be brushed every day and does not like heat at all. And both dogs are prone to hip problems, eye problems and spine problems because of their size.

My husky isnt that old and already having hip problems
